The latest psychological research indicates that a supportive network of close relationships is the key to happiness

connection leads to healing

About Group Therapy:

Expert guidance, healing camaraderie, meaningful connection

Group Therapy is a wonderful adjunct to individual therapy and offers clients the support and encouragement of a friendly group of like-minded peers who are experiencing similar life issues.

Led by Stanford-educated Adult Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist, Dr. Sheenie Ambardar, M.D., our groups foster trust, openness, and honest communication, qualities which are essential to successful human relationships and individual well-being.

Participants who attend Group Therapy are often surprised by the positive changes that occur in their mindsets and moods over time. A nurturing, nonjudgmental, and confidential space to regularly share feelings and thoughts offers tremendous psychological benefits.

Our Groups Focus On:

Self-Compassion

image14

Cultivating Self-Compassion has been proven to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety and to improve mental well-being. Self-Compassion involves being aware of our own suffering, treating ourselves with kindness and concern, and recognizing that as humans we all suffer. The opposite of Self-Compassion is self-criticism and self-judgment.

Self-Esteem/Self-Respect

image15

Self-Esteem is a basic confidence in your own intrinsic worth and capabilities. Self-Esteem involves having self-respect, self-regard, and a strong sense of person that is not dependent on external validation. Self-Esteem also involves liking yourself, recognizing yourself as the authority on your life, and accepting and appreciating all of yourself, both the good and the bad.

CODEPENDENCY

image16

Codependency is an other-focused perspective in which people are out of touch with who they are and what they want in life. Codependency involves placing other peoples' needs and wishes above your own, excessive people-pleasing, self-abandonment, and a gradual loss of self. Codependency is strongly correlated with depression and anxiety.
